Hemicellulase and beta-glucanase enzymes support the breakdown of fiber. By acting to break down cell wall components and phytic acid, these enzymes promote nutrient bioavailability of foods that contain fiber. Glucoamylase enzymes help to hydrolyze the glucoside bond in starches and dextrins.

Alpha-galactosidase enzymes promote the breakdown of specific complex carbohydrates, including raffinose and stachyose which are found in certain legumes, grains and vegetables. Thus, these enzymes may help relieve occasional intestinal gas or bloating. Peptidase and serratiopeptidase enzymes help catalyze the hydrolysis of peptides or peptones to amino acids, including gluten.
