Tyrosine is a mood elevator, mild antioxidant, appetite suppressant, and helps to reduce body fat. This important amino acid is a precursor of adrenaline and the neurotransmitters norepinephrine and dopamine which regulate mood and stimulate metabolism and the nervous system. Tyrosine deficiency can result in low blood pressure, low body temperature, restless leg syndrome, and hypothyroidism. Supplemental tyrosine may also be helpful for those with anxiety, depression, decreased libido, allergies, headaches, or those suffering from Parkinson's disease.
